Military Discharges – DD 214 and other info

Thanks to the McLean County Recorders Office and a recent Donation

Service members discharged received a document that often summarizes their service.  They are encouraged, but not required to have this document recorded in the county of their residence.  Illinois recently allowed the recorders office to release documents if 72 years has transpired since the recording date.   Mark Bounds at the McLean County Recorders office graciously allowed us access to the indexes and documents thru 1949.  As more books are digitized, the content will be added here.
